CBD, the FDA, and credit cards

The only credit card processor that will work with CBD businesses is Square. As CBD has not been approved for medical use by the FDA, Square cannot accept payments for hemp and other cannabis derivatives with claims that the products may be used to cure, treat, or aid in diagnosable health conditions, such as: inflammation, depression, PTSD, ADHD, or cancer.
Square also charges a higher credit card processing fee to CBD businesses, making an already difficult business even more so.
Adding to the difficulty, Square seems to use AI rather than a human to review CBD websites. I have had to gut most mentions of CBD from my pages and product descriptions. CBD near any word suggesting a benefit of any kind, even if not in reference to CBD, gets flagged, resulting in Square withholding all deposits from me and shutting down my website.
